Freezing a stuttering

I’m sorry to say that Fulgaz is still freezing and stuttering on longer rides. I have not used it for awhile, but with all the updates I gave it another shot the other day, but the same issues.

I am on a Mac mini M4, with a 250/50 NBN. The Mac is connected using an ethernet cable. I run Zwift on the same device with no issues. The monitor is a TV connected using a HDMI cable. I connect using both ANT+ and bluetooth to the smart trainer, cadence monitor and HR monitor.

Even when I download the coarse before the ride (which does improve the ride), it takes ‘an eternity’ to download.

Cheers

Greg

Same here. 1080p ran fairly smoothly before ROUVY acquired Fulgaz. Now I can barely stream 1080 and can’t even consider 4K.

Stuttering and freezing videos Apple TV

Hi. Long time FulGaz rider here. The stuttering and freezing in video playback has got worse and worse this year. Every ride now has momentary stuttering and periods where it freezes for 30 second and when it comes back it races at silly speeds to catch up. I’m using a 2024 Apple TV with 1Gbs fibre ethernet and 1080p. It used to be fine but something has definitely changed for the worse this year. Downloads aren’t really that answer as the Apple TV is only 32GB so can only hold one at a time. The downloads themselves can take 30 minutes for a 20 mile ride but apps like Netflix can download a 1 hour show in 3 minutes. I’m in the UK if that makes a difference? Am I streaming from servers in Australia?

    Streaming of 4k

Streaming of video in 4k still buffers a lot. I tried to ride John Hallas’s weekly challenge this week and encountered several pauses. I have 1000mbit NBN internet, the latest Apple TV Pro connected by wired Gigabit ethernet, so it’s definitely not my end.

Hi Hamish. Thanks for the heads up. I’m not able to stream in 4K here on my “island internet” so I’ll see if I can get this tested by somebody on the team.

    more stuttering

I had hoped your new version would reduce the freeze and stutter. I did the first leg of the Iowa bike ride and was into the stutter within 10 seconds. This is running at 1080p with 3.0 Gbs fibreoptic direct to home.

I was better off when you had the turn off HLS streaming option
