FulGaz Crashes during ride
I had this problem in the previous version of FulGaz and really hoped this new version had fixed it. Nope. FulGaz froze then crashed about halfway through the “Baneberg & Kemmelberg 2025” ride today. I didn’t even get to enjoy the long descent after the tough second climb. ;-) My system is a Windows 11 NUC purchased recently. I had Do Not Disturb turned on and OneDrive syncing paused in case Windows was doing something in the background. Other than Windows, I have nothing else running at the time I’m using FulGaz, but this crashing mid-ride has been an ongoing problem for me.

FulGaz crash near the end of a ride - Win 11
I already posted about the crashes at the beginning of challenge rides I’m getting in v.5.3.12.0, but today I had a crash 16.2 miles into a ride. The ride was “Fairbanks Ranch”. The screen suddenly froze and the app crashed. (Fortunately I was able to quickly restart, reconnect, create a section ride for the last bit I hadn’t done, and finish the ride!) Amazingly, I checked my ride history, and the 16.2-mile portion showed up with my stats, so that file may provide a clue as to what happened. Not sure if this is the same problem as the other reported crashes, but I did want to get it on the docket, since most of the other crashing problems seemed to be at the beginning of rides or resuming rides. I’ve been riding outside since I live in the US, but on a rainy day used FulGaz this week, the “Three Castle Head” ride. I had the same issue as I reported above, where I was close to the end of the ride, and the app crashed. When I went to restart FulGaz, I noticed that my screen display (the backdrop slideshow) was gone, just a black screen with my icons. Because of this, I wonder if using the default Bing slideshow as a Display backdrop may be interacting with FulGaz in a bad way. Like perhaps my PC was trying to display the next photo in a sequence, causing FulGaz to crash?
Just a theory I thought I’d pass along, since my husband, also on Win 11, hasn’t experienced these crashes, and he’s got just one photo chosen for his Display backdrop, so his PC doesn’t try to change the photo mid-way through a ride.

[MacOS] Video freezes in the latest FulGaz version 5.3.11
I was doing a workout (steady mode and ERG mode on) and the video froze at around 75% of the workout. By going to background and then foreground it unfreeze for a couple seconds and then froze again. I had to give up and didn’t finish my workout.

The freeze then app crash is still happening consistently for me, usually 45 minutes to 1 hour into a longer ride. I’ve got DND turned on, OneDrive syncing turned off, and I’ve had this happen with 1K rides as well as 4K rides (all downloaded). Short rides are fine. Latest happenings were on the “Bruce Energy Centre” ride at 48:10 (on 11/10/25) and “The Tiddley” at 01:26:27 (on 11/8/25).

I did a few things Klem suggested, including turning off hardware acceleration. Had a few successful rides after that, so thought that fixed it, but today doing downloaded ride “Around the Zugspitze”, FulGaz froze and crashed after 16.46 miles (just under 4 miles to go).

Windows 5.3.12 App crashes during DOWNLOADED ride
I’ve had this problem for awhile, and reading the most recent FulGaz Friday emails, it appears that tech. support believes this only happens when streaming rides. Not so. I use only downloaded rides on my Windows 11 (fully updated) system and am having a freeze & app crash frequently mid-way through a longer ride. I’m in the US so haven’t been using FulGaz often lately (only on rainy days), but this has been a pretty consistent issue for me over the past few months, when I have used the app. Today I did “Gorges du Célé to Château de Cabrerets”, and it crashed after 8.59 miles. I did get that portion of the ride in my ride history list, and I sectioned off the ride to finish it.

I use ATV and when downloading it has been perfect. Im in Australia . Hope you can get it working properly soon

This crash happened again today on “Going to Key West”. FulGaz froze and crashed with .31 miles to go in the ride.
