Workout in Reactive mode and correctly working interval times

Was really excited to see the ‘'Allow reactive mode for workouts'' setting however disappointingly this stuffs up each intervals step times e.g. step says 60 seconds but Fulgaz changes to the next interval at 80 seconds or in some cases extends the interval.

Really want to use Fulgaz for workouts as i love the feeling of doing a hard interval and seeing a change in speed in the real world video.

As it stands i can’t use Fulgaz for workouts in reactive mode, even though it appears that this is what this option is for, as it really stuffs the workout if you aren’t actually hitting the targets.

It can also turn out what is supposed to be a 1hr workout for example into a 1hr 45mins since each of the longer cool-down intervals within a workout that should be 5 minutes can end up running for 15 minutes.

Thanks

To add to this, checking the ‘Distance Based on Effort’ setting also has no effect. You get the distance from the video in your recording file.

Klem - this is a big deal. Just make FG behave the same way that Zwift works. I understand that the video may not be the correct length for the given workout depending on who is pedaling but that is the problem for the rider, not the system. I choose the workout and I choose the video. If I choose a video that isn’t long enough for the workout, then that’s my fault and the workout just ends prematurely.

Reactive mode for workouts is a thing that FG can correctly implement and see more people have no need to switch to Zwift for their workouts! FG makes more money!

This used to be able to be worked around by FG reading power data from the trainer in ANT mode while controlling the trainer from another app using bluetooth mode.

Since FG dropped ANT and most trainers i belive transmit power in a single channel with trainer control channel, FG now keeps trying to take control of the trainer even if you only want power data from (while another app controls the trainer).

Anyone know of a way to configure FG to only read power data over bluetooth, and not try and take over control of the trainer (without resorting to a separate power meter) ?

I've had a play around with a few of the FG settings and couldnt get it to work in this manner with my jet-black Volt e.g. not check the trainer box in the UI and only select the power meter but it still interfered with another devices control of the trainer.

The reactive mode for workouts option is a slightly “experimental” feature that was created for use with pacing strategy workouts, where you overlay a coach-supplied pacing strategy interval session over the actual race course you are training for, rather than regular workouts.

Currently for workouts in FulGaz, you will need to use Steady Mode.

Thanks. Would love to have it working for regular workouts too though. Steady is a bit boring when your doing a workout as video doesn’t reflect effort.
