External display behavior changed in latest version (iPad + HDMI)

Hello,

I am using an iPad connected to a TV via a USB‑C–to‑HDMI adapter.

In a previous version of the app, when connecting the external display, a message appeared on the TV (something like “Your ride will be shown on this screen”). During the ride, the video was displayed full‑screen on the TV, while the iPad showed only the controls, map, and other UI elements. The TV image filled the entire screen, and the setup was excellent: a large immersive view on the TV and useful controls on the iPad.

In the current version, however, the iPad screen is simply mirrored on the TV. As a result:

• The TV image has black bars on the sides and is not full‑screen.

• Any overlay (for example the map) appears on the TV as well, covering the ride video.

• The overall experience is much less immersive and less practical.

I strongly preferred the previous external display behavior.
Is it possible to restore or re‑implement a dedicated external display mode, with the ride video shown full‑screen on the TV and the UI (map, controls) kept on the iPad?
