Color the elevation line and leave out the vertical bars

I’m wondering if it would be possible to just draw the traditional elevation profile line and color it in with the various gradient lines, eliminating the colored-in vertical space below the line that looks bad, blocks scenery, etc. With just coloring the line it wouldn’t take up any more space than it already does and it’s already optional IIRC. I might have to be a tiny bit wider to make it show up better but not much different than the original.

I like this idea. I also wish there was a different color for descents. When you first implemented the colored gradient, descents were blue, while mild inclines (0.1 to 0.4 or some such) were green. Now, all descents are the same color as as mild inclines, green. To me, a 10% descent should not be colored the same as a 0.4% ascent. Even a -0.1% descent feels easier than a 0.4% ascent, in my world. Thanks for considering this.

Great idea. The new gradient blocks too much scenery. If a single colored line is not possible at least add an option to revert to the old white line

I meant “color it in with the various gradient colors”, in case it wasn’t clear. 😉
